Short Stay Tools for Landlords

We have assembled these tools for short stay landlords to help them with the many intricacies involved with running a short stay business.  Guest registration is on the left-hand side of the page and resources on the right.  Only original owers that have purchased from the Developer and who have a City of Kelowna business license are permitted to conduct short stay rentals.

Register one guest per stay with a first name and phone number.  This will give us immediate access to the guest if there is a problem.  Also, we use this information to create a welcome letter that will give your guests info on pool rules, garbage, security services, etc.

City of Kelowna Business License
Business licenses will only be issued to an owner that lives in their unit at least 6 months a year.  It must be the owner's primary residence.  The City of Kelowna requires the completion a number of forms including a Strata Consent Form.  Please email the completed strata consent form to office@waterscapescommunity.com The council president will sign and return the form to you normally within a few days.
 

Steps to Obtaining a Business License 
Submit a short-term rental business application form and fee payment for approval by the City.


Include the following with your application.

  • Provide proof of ownership OR Owner Consent Form.

  • A Strata Consent Form Signed by the Council President

  • A Good Neighbour Agreement Form.

  • A Fire and Safety Attestation Form.

  • Prepare a fire and safety evacuation plan identifying the location of smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, fire exits, and sleeping units.
     

Submit your application form and supporting documents either in person at City Hall or by email to shorttermrentalapplication@kelowna.ca. Fees can be paid online or in person at City Hall.
